How long did it take you to get your first 100 YouTube subscribers?

Getting the first 100 subscribers can feel incredibly slow when you are starting a channel. UK creators who have already passed the milestone: roughly how long did it take? More importantly, what started working? Was it one particular video, YouTube search, Shorts, improved thumbnails, consistent uploads or simply finding the right niche? If you are still working towards 100, tell us where you are now. Let's compare experiences without turning the discussion into channel promotion.

I’m still working towards my first 100, and honestly the hardest part has been figuring out what actually needs improving. At first I thought the answer was simply uploading more often, but now I’m starting to realise things like the first 30 seconds, thumbnails, titles and choosing the right topic probably matter just as much. It would be really useful to hear from people who already crossed 100 — especially what changed just before you started seeing better results. Was there something you were doing wrong at the beginning that you only realised later? I think these real experiences are much more useful for new creators than generic “just stay consistent” advice.
